Dean and Deluca
Dean and Deluca is a chain of upscale grocery stores catering to international tastes and providing a wide variety of food items. Originally based out of New York’s Soho district, the owners decided to expand into the Washington, D.C. market, specifically the posh Georgetown neighborhood. Credited as a major contributor to the revitalization of the shopping experience on M st. when it first opened. The proposed layout and outdoor seating area provided unique design challenges for the MEP team that were met with exceptional results.
Established in 1934 as a premier riding and boarding facility in the DC area and with extensive rings, turnout, stabling, and space for 8,000 spectators, Meadowbrook Stables endures today as one of the few urban riding stables in the country where riders, horses and the public have a rare opportunity to connect.
The Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission commissioned Advanced Consulting Engineering, PC to design a fire alarm and suppression system upgrade tailored to the unique needs of the all-wood stable (with heated/unheated spaces) and the horses within.
As the share-industry exploded, so too did the start-up company join the ranks of traditional small businesses. With this in mind, Uber Offices provides sub-leased affordable office spaces in prime locations around the Washington, D.C. area.
Advanced Consulting Engineering, PC contributed the MEP design to the 44,000 sf space in Dupont consisting of 103 offices. Not the usual office space by any stretch of the imagination (and ACE has done thousands), the challenge the design team met head on was creating a comfortable and productive space with the limited amount of room per desk. The result has been a resounding success, as evidenced by UberOffices expanding into several new markets in the coming year.
